SILENT … LISTEN
Same letters. Different words.
Kinda cool if we think that when we are silent we can listen to what
can’t be heard in the midst of our noisy world … IF we choose to listen.
That quiet voice within us is our inner GPS. No wonder we often get lost & disconnected from our self - who we are & what we want. We can’t hear ourselves with the cacophony of sounds, and demands directed at us. We also do it to ourselves, don’t we, with the mental whirring of constant inner chatter?
Most of the practices I offer are delicious, divine & necessary for a life of meaning, delight & the ability to find calm when needed. They help us to:
reconnect with our inner guidance system;
find silence between the static;
stretch, strengthen, align & integrate body, mind & heart.
Every single class or workshop helps us to disconnect from wifi and tune in to ourselves and reconnect, so we can all step back into our world restored. (We just must remember to turn our smart watches to airplane mode otherwise Siri keeps talking at us!!).
We are rejuvenated, knowing that we can make better choices because
we have touched base again with ourselves & remember what
really matters to us…because if we don’t choose that for ourselves,
the world will decide for us. That’s why our schedules
get overloaded with stuff we just don’t want to, or need to, do.
Life on auto pilot means we end up like the aftermath of a tsunami - tumbled and jostled - a bloody big mess.
I saw one of the big supermarket chains is offering a Quiet Hour between 6-7PM every weekday - radios, registers, scanners - all will be on lowest volume. The PA only for emergencies, & I am assuming the chick who constantly asks me to ‘scan my card at any time’ will be given a well earned rest break too. I often bristle at the noise of the world, so this is a welcome gesture from a corporate giant.
As humans we can also work our self governance muscle. Learning how to turn down the volume of the world for some inner peace ourselves - no matter what the world is throwing at us - is an extremely worthwhile endeavor. We can. We have to try to find the spaces between the noise.
In the new year I have weekly 15 minute online meditation sessions scheduled, where we can sit with ourselves and each other to find stability. 15 minutes is very doable and achievable. I hope that you will join me for those and for other offerings - including Weekly 20 minute online live yoga, and longer Restorative Yoga Sessions, to support us as as we try to move tenderly through our days.
